Auto locksmith in Armley

Armley is one of our closest call-outs. We are four miles away, straight up the A647 in Stanningley.

  • 4 miles from our Stanningley base
  • No call-out fee
  • 24/7

Right on our doorstep

Our base is on Ederoyd Mount in Stanningley, on the same A647 corridor that runs down into Armley. It is a straight run east with no real bottlenecks outside rush hour, and when Stanningley Road is busy we drop through Bramley or come along Canal Road instead.

We do not pretend to have a shopfront on Town Street. We are a mobile auto locksmith, and Armley happens to be one of the areas we reach fastest in the whole of Leeds.

Common call-outs in Armley

  • Keys locked in the car on Town Street or outside the shops on Branch Road, which is a non-destructive entry job
  • Keys lost around Armley Park or Armley Mills, where we produce a replacement key at the car
  • Key snapped in a door lock on one of the terraced streets off Tong Road, which needs extraction
  • Fobs that have stopped working, often just a battery or contact repair
  • Vans locked or keyless at the industrial units along Canal Road, where a lost key stops the day

Parking, one way systems and why they matter

Armley is a mix of tight Victorian terraces and busy commercial roads, and the two create different problems. On the terraced streets off Wortley Road the parking is nose to tail, so when a car is locked it often cannot be moved out of the way for anyone else. On Town Street the bays are short stay, and a locked car in one of them starts costing money quickly.

Both are arguments for a mobile locksmith rather than recovery. We come to the vehicle, sort it where it stands and the car never has to be lifted onto a truck or shunted down a street with cars parked both sides.

Our route into Armley

From Ederoyd Mount we join Stanningley Road and run straight down the A647 into Armley. It is one road, four miles, and outside the morning peak it is a clear run. When Stanningley Road is queuing at Armley Gyratory we drop through Bramley and come in along Canal Road, or take Tong Road up from the Wortley side.

Knowing those alternatives is the difference between a quick arrival and a long crawl. The A647 backs up predictably between about half seven and nine in the morning and again from four in the afternoon, and there is a second pinch point around the gyratory whenever there is anything on at Elland Road. We plan around them rather than sitting in them, and if the traffic genuinely will slow us down, we tell you that when you ring instead of quoting a time we cannot keep.

A typical call-out in Armley

The pattern here repeats often enough that we can usually guess the job before we arrive. Someone parks on a terraced street off Tong Road or Wortley Road, comes back with shopping, puts the bags in the boot with the keys on top of them, and shuts the lid. The car locks itself and the keys are inside.

We take the make, model and year on the phone, quote it, and come straight out. The boot is opened without damage, the car is checked over and locked properly, and the whole thing is over quickly. The alternative, which people occasionally try first, is a coat hanger through the door seal, and that usually ends with a bent door frame, a damaged weather strip and a bill considerably larger than ours.

Nearby areas we cover from Armley

Armley sits in the middle of our fastest patch, so if the car is actually parked a street or two over the boundary it makes no difference to us. We cover Bramley and Kirkstall in the same run, along with Wortley, New Wortley, Farnley and Armley Heights, at the same price and the same response time.

That matters more than it sounds. People often describe where they are by the nearest landmark rather than the postcode, and half the streets around Tong Road could reasonably be called two different areas. You do not need to work out which one you are technically in. Tell us the street and we will be there.

Questions from Armley drivers

Are you based in Armley?

No, and we will not claim to be. We are at 6 Ederoyd Mount, Stanningley LS28 7QX, about 4 miles west along the A647, and we come straight to your vehicle.

How quickly can you get to Armley?

Armley is four miles from our base on the same road, so it is one of our closest areas. You get a live ETA on the call rather than a vague promise.

Do you cover Wortley, New Wortley and Armley Heights?

Yes, all of them, at no extra charge.

Can you open my car without damaging it?

In almost every case, yes. We use specialist vehicle entry tools and protect the paintwork and seals.

I have lost every key. Can you still help?

Yes. We open the car, read the key code and program a new key at the kerbside, with no tow to a dealer.

Do you come out at night in Armley?

Yes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week including Bank Holidays.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. The price agreed on the phone is what you pay.

Can you come to the industrial units on Canal Road?

Yes. We do a lot of van work along that corridor and we can invoice a business rather than taking payment at the roadside.

What if my car is parked on a hill on one of the steeper streets?

Not an issue for us. We work at the vehicle wherever it is sat, as long as it is safe to stand beside it.
