Getting to Roundhay
We come across the north of the city and in past Chapel Allerton, and Roundhay is about eight miles out. Street Lane, Princes Avenue, the Oakwood Clock end and the roads around Soldiers Field are all familiar.
Roundhay generates more lost key calls than almost anywhere else we cover, for one obvious reason: the park. Hundreds of acres, thousands of visitors at the weekend, and a great many coat pockets.
The park, and where keys disappear

Our route into Roundhay
We come across through Meanwood and Chapel Allerton, or up Scott Hall Road and along to Street Lane, depending on which side of the park you are. Oakwood, Gledhow, Princes Avenue and the Mansion car parks are each slightly different approaches.
Weekends are our busiest time here and the park traffic is the thing to plan around. On a hot Saturday the roads into the park crawl and the car parks are full, so we give a realistic time and, if the van cannot get close, we walk the kit in.
